About Next Steps Senior Placement

Empathy & Expertise in Senior Living

Next Steps Senior Placement began when owner Cameron Crawford found her own family in a time of crisis and had nowhere to turn for guidance. She realized during the process how beneficial it would have been to have someone walk alongside her. So began Next Steps Senior Placement. We bring hands-on help and experience to guide you towards the community that fits your needs.

Cameron Crawford

Owner, Certified Senior Advisor, Placement Specialist

Sitting at her preschooler’s soccer game, Cameron's life shifted when her mom disclosed her Alzheimer's diagnosis.  Cameron was instantly inducted into the Sandwich Generation “Club” alongside 2.5 million other family caregivers in the US. She grappled with the dual responsibility of caring for her elderly parent and raising young children. The diagnosis plunged her family into chaos, leaving her feeling profoundly isolated.

In her quest to find suitable care for her mother, Cameron recognized the complex challenges involved in developing a comprehensive plan. This realization led her to commit full-time to simplifying the overwhelming process.

Armed with a non-profit background, an MBA, and a fervent dedication to caring for both the caregiver and elderly parent, Cameron founded Next Steps Senior Placement. Serving as a steadfast companion for those navigating the emotional journey of transitioning loved ones from home, the organization reflects her commitment.

Acknowledging the need for a knowledgeable guide, Cameron works closely with clients, streamlining the search for communities that match their budget, care needs, and desired locations, saving families valuable research time.

Driven by a passion for assisting families and alleviating the stress of this challenging period, Cameron adds a personal touch to her role. She believes a challenging caregiver crisis can foster a beautiful community and provide strength, education, and support while offering a free service for families to find the best senior living options.

Her journey into senior care began as she supported her own mother through more than a decade of dementia and high-care needs—all while working full time. Her mother’s care path included 24/7 in-home care, living in Diana’s home, transitions through multiple senior living communities, skilled nursing, and a residential group home. Through this, Diana experienced the full range—the good and the difficult—of what families go through.

This personal experience ignited Diana’s deep passion for supporting older adults and the families who care for them. You, your loved one, and your family are in capable, compassionate hands.

Cameron was incredibly helpful to us! When it was time to move our Dad we felt overwhelmed by all the options. She found a place that was SUCH a great fit for him, and that really helped make a hard situation a little bit easier.
